My tips would be, in the job world.
- Don't use all caps as that generally means you're yelling.
- Don't use emoticons as they look unprofessional ;)
- Don't add unnecessary words or punctuation!!
- Make shore spelling is write.
- Make sure all material is work appropriate

- Chain mail, no one likes this
